With Social Media and Networking a huge resource for any website, it is important to establish an account on the major networks.

Facebook and Twitter are huge right now, and I have been able to build a few successful accounts.

Invesp Contest Promotion

After contacting Khalid on from Invesp, he hired me to promote his contest in August of 2007. It was a large contest, $400, but I was able to get his contest listed on nearly 17 blogs. This was before the emergence of contest blogs. Now I could easily double that number and make it closer to 50.

Overall Khalid said “I am very satisfied. Thank you for all the effort.” He even invited me to write a guest post about how I marketed the contest on different blogs entitled How To Effectively Promote a Blog Contest.

This was the first contest promotion job I did. I had previously only promoted my own contests. This would lead to work with Kontera.

Jamie Kennedy Campaign

I worked on this campaign for Jamie Kennedy to get some buzz and pre-sales for his newest movie Heckler. It also included promoting the Heckler Youtube contest. Heckler is a docu-movie about hecklers, heckling, and critics. This campaign had lot of different aspects and I did several things for it.

Contest

I basically made a contest for a contest. At Blog about your Blog we gave 3 people a Jamie Kennedy prize pack for blogging about the BAYB contest as well as Jamie’s contest. This achieved many bloggers blogging about it (20-30 links) as well as sent visitors to his Amazon pre-order page and the Heckler Youtube trailer.

I’ve also done a follow-up contest giving away a Heckler DVD. This had a few entries (10-15) drawing attention to Jamie’s twitter, youtube, and Heckler.

Amazon

As mentioned part of the campaign was to increase Amazon sales. Through my own campaign I was able to send about 1,000 visitors to the Heckler order page over time. Unfortunately we didn’t achieve any actual sales, but that is quite a few visitors.

Youtube

This was a small part of the campaign, but we did get several contest entries to blog about the movie and include the Youtube trailer in their post.

Twitter

I also worked on increasing Jamie’s twitter account and was able to get about 50 new followers.

Social Media Campaign

I did a small social media campaign on Stumbleupon for the Jamie Kennedy contest. That resulted in 22 new votes, and a large amount of traffic (result unknown)

Contest Live

Contest Live is a social voting network where you can submit, vote, and find contests to enter. Contest Live is a great contest resource site for those very reasons. I built the website with Pligg, but didn’t have time to maintain it properly with all of the other projects I had going on.

Contest Live also has an active contest blog where there are more contests a bit more indepth. There are also easy ways to get your contest featured on the blog as well as paying a small fee of $2.

Pligg is a great platform to use for a website, but it isn’t quite as customizable as Wordpress. Along with setting up Wordpress for you, I could also install Pligg at a fee.

Blog about your Blog is about blogging, making money online, and other internet related topics. We write about different blogs in the blogosphere, great contests, and Wordpress. It is a multi-author blog that is open to quality bloggers, with quality blogs and quality articles.

Blog about your Blog (BAYB) was founded in Nov 2006 by myself. I started out on blogspot and gained quite a few bloggers on the team. Working with Lee we were able to move the blog to Wordpress and it’s own domain. BAYB was basically my learning tool with blogging and I have evolved as a blogger as well as a webmaster.

BAYB has grown to nearly 700 RSS feed readers with great reader support. The alexa score on the blog has now gone well under 100,000 to 76,000. Unfortunately Google has put BAYB down to a PR2 from once a PR4.

Words of a Poet

Words of a Poet is a collection of my own personal poetry as well as famous poetry that inspires me. I also have different song lyrics as they are their own form of poetry. It may not make a lot of money, but I know it’s touched a lot of people. I have been able to share my poetry with people as well as post submitted poetry. This website is an example of my passion for love, people, and life.

I have famous poetry from Jimmy Santiago Baca, Antwone Fisher, and Tupac Shakur. There are lyrics from artists like Brianna Taylor, Maroon 5 and Leona Lewis.
